August 27th Community Forum

posted Aug 30, 2018, 8:11 AM by Chris Cooney
On August 27th, Newmarket Junior Senior High School held a community forum for families deigned to explain changes in student transportation, parking, and changes in traffic patterns. Please take a moment to review summary of our meeting below:

Student Parking:
Student parking is available at Beech Street Ext. (formerly the senior center). The application and permitting process is complete. All documents relative to permitting have been sent directly to students. To request a copy of these documents during the year, please contact Ms. Crystal Daley-Dolloff via email at: crystal@newmarket.k12.nh.us Spaces are limited. We will be waiving parking fees for this school year. In concert with our Athletic Director and coaches, we have staggered the start time of practices and contests for student drivers to allow for extra travel time. Please encourage students travel safely.
Parent pick up and drop off:

The bus loop at the entrance of our building is for buses and emergency vehicles only.

For students travelling with family, you will be directed through designated pickup and drop off zones at the Carpenter lot located across the street from school. All students will be directed to the proper locations throughout the first few days of school. At the bottom of this email is an attachment which contains a map of our traffic pattern. A crossing guard will be employed at the crosswalk during dismissal and arrival times. As always, we encourage families to employ our bus transportation whenever possible.

Currently we are unable to access the playing field directly from our building. As a result, students will be escorted to and from the filed by their coaches. There will be available parking for fans in near the recreation center and in surrounding areas. As always, we encourage carpooling and advanced planning to remediate issues which relate to limited parking. All coaches will be discussing safe travel with our student athletes. We will also be asking our transportation provider to stop at both our Carpenter lot and Beech Street extension lot upon return from away contests.

Our neighbors at Lamprey River Health Care have also been impacted by our construction project. Please be reminded that at no time should students or families use the Lamprey River Health Care lots for pick up, drop off, or parking.
